54. Uniform Commercial Code (UCC)
The Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) is a comprehensive set of laws governing all commercial transactions in the United States. It is not a federal law, but rather a uniformly adopted state law. Its uniformity is essential for businesses that operate across state lines. All 50 states, the District of Columbia, and the U.S. territories have adopted some version of the UCC. An example can be seen from Cornell's LII.
