40. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)
The International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) is a United States regulatory regime that restricts and controls the export of defense-related and military-related technologies to safeguard U.S. national security and further U.S. foreign policy objectives. The regulations, found in 22 CFR Parts 120-130, are administered by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC) within the U.S. Department of State.
